How I Made Cyclops Blue

This is a complete overview on how "Cyclops Blue" was made. This is a result of many years of practice and refining techniques in order to create these pieces. Enjoy!

Stage 1

I had this idea when I combined a studio lamp and an old car jack, realising it would make an amazing lamp!

Stage 2

I started by grinding the rust off the studio lamp and the car jack. I also masked it so that I can apply paint and start to abstract it.

Stage 3

This is what the lamp looked like once it was fully masked. The masking helps from paint seeping onto other parts of the lamp.

Stage 4

This is the final stage. I have various techniques in order to get different variations of abstracts. I applied a streaky effect to this piece along with swirls to have a refined look and making it last years. There is one layer of paint and at least 6 layers of clearcoat on. This is to protect it from damage.
